HOW TO HIDE A CATAGORY WHEN THE ITEM IS OUT OF STOCK

Hi there

I sell craft beer on line and need to add a catagory for each brewery. This is straight foward. However I need the catagory NOT to show if we are out of stock for that particular brewery. Can this be done on SQUARE or do I need to hide the catagory manually?

Hi @mikesox , I don't think this is possible currently. It's a manual switch off at the moment I'm afraid.

Hi @mikesox - I need to check if this is possible with specific categories but you start with hiding particular items within each category when they become unavailable.

To control an item’s visibility:

From your Square Online Overview page, go to Items > Site Items.
Select an item from your items list.
Under Visibility, select either Visible, Hidden or Unavailable.
Complete all other edits to the item and select Save when finished.

You can also update visibility for multiple items at once using the bulk editing method, or update it directly from your Square Item Library by selecting an item and editing the Visibility under ‘Square Online settings’. Learn more about creating and managing items in your Item Library.

The available item visibility settings are as follows:

Visible: Your item is visible online and available for purchase, and will show up in navigation and site search results.
Hidden: Your item is available for purchase online but only to those who have the direct link to it (useful for exclusive items).
Unavailable: Your item isn’t visible online and can’t be purchased (useful if you aren’t ready to sell the item).

@mikesox just come across this. Under dite category and edit category you can hide categories and subcategories from the published site see image attached
