Hey everyone! I am new to Square and I started a custom laser-cutting business. I don't know how to make custom orders, such as putting an image of the buyer's choice and putting it on my product.

Hi @Danny_McGhie - welcome to the Square and the Seller Community 🙂

We have Item Modifiers in Square Online which you may be able to leverage here.

We can create a text box modifier that we will input on an item-level basis. For example, if you are selling a T-shirt, in the text modifier box the customer can write the message they want you to print.

This field does not allow your customers to add a custom image at this time, that would be a feature request.

I believe if you would like to set that up you'll need an integration with one of our partners, JotfForm has this functionality.

I have been with square 2 years now and the only work around I have found is that I added a link within the order confirmation email that the customer can click to upload there image.

I do edible printing which requires the customer to pass over images so I can create them as edible prints for cakes. I initially did have a link within the item description to where the customer could upload there image to me but I found that way cause major confusion and I would have random images uploaded to me without an order to match it to.

So now the customer has to place the order first and the link is in there confirmation order email.
