Hello, before ordering the hardware I'm trying to find an answer to this question.

Can I take an order from either a register or stand, but collect the payment from a terminal?

So hand off the order to a different device to take payment. As is it a simple process or pressing a button or two or more complicated than that?

Hey @gwilty, thanks for your question and welcome to the Community!

You can wirelessly connect your Square Terminal to any tablet, iPad, or smartphone if you're using our Retail, Restaurants or standard POS app. This effectively turns Square Terminal into a dedicated customer display and checkout device. There's a short video on our support article here that shows how you would set this up. It's not complicated at all.

You’re not able to connect the Terminal with the Square Register, but you can manage orders across your devices with Open Tickets. It’s easy to set this feature up directly from your POS device. You’ll find the steps on our Support Centre.
