2 separate owners under 1 salon

Iwe are looking to getting square for our pos. We are 2 sole trader businesses operating in the same salon. Do we each need a square or can we use just 1 and have it set up with 2 accounts that will each give us stats on sales and stock etc as well as identify everything for tax. We are each sole traders not a partnership. Thanks Donna

Thanks for getting in touch!

You'd need to start by creating your own separate Square accounts under your respective names and ABNs.

You can use the same reader between different accounts, however the reader can only be connected to a single mobile device and account at a time. It's going to be fairly cumbersome to have to forget and re-pair the reader each time one of you wants to take a payment, or if you used a shared iPad, log in and out of the app each time you take a payment.

My recommendation for this scenario is for you to each have a separate Square account running on a compatible mobile device as well as each of you having your own Square reader!
