Feedback? Checking without being able to write checks??

I was told by a customer service rep on the phone that I could go to the "Seller community" and give feedback. I haven't figured out how to do that. I cannot believe I signed up for a CHECKING ACCOUNT and now I'm being told I can't write a check using my "checking account." I called to ask why I'm only being given the option to "send a digital check" because a lot of my vendors aren't going to be able to figure out how to deposit a "digital check" whatever that is - I honestly don't know if I could figure out how to do that myself - and I'm told that there are no checks. So even though I opened up a Square "checking account," I cannot pay people with checks from my business checking account, and I am now going to have to still go and open up a business checking account with some local bank or something just so that I can pay my vendors with checks?

I have had nothing but bad experiences with Square Checking so far and I am extremely disappointed.

Hi @comingupviolets. Let’s see if we can’t clear a few misunderstandings up here, as well as some misinformation you seem to have been given.

Currently, it is correct that you can not order paper checks that you can manually write and mail to vendors or anyone else. I’m nut sure that will ever be possible.
But, for the next few bullet points, I’m going to assume that you plan to use Square Bill Pay.
If so, Square has recently (in the last few weeks) added the option to have paper checks printed and mailed by Square to the payee. For right now, those paper checks are free of charge to us, but I would not expect that to last forever.
Digital checks are just paper checks that are emailed to the email address your vendor specifies. They can print them and deposit them however they wish.
Vendors can also specify that they would like to be paid via ACH so that the payment is directly deposited into their account. If they choose this, you and they both receive emails when the payment is sent.

The point of all of that is that your vendor gets to choose how they want to get paid. When you set them up, you send them an email that has a link where they can securely set up their desired payment method — ACH, emailed digital check, mailed paper check. That method will be used for all future payments, and can be changed at any time.

One more thing. Before you jump too far into using Square Checking, I want to caution you about one thing. Currently, there is no way to use automatic account reconciliation in accounting systems, like Quickbooks, for example. Many of us have requested that Square give us this feature, but I’ve seen no announcement about it. So, if that is important to you (which it is not to me), then you might want to consider a brick-and-mortar bank for now.

Hey there Comingupviolets,

I'm thinking that what the Square Rep was suggesting that you submit your concern and/or idea as a Feature Request - you can do that here.

We have all experienced issues with various Credit Card Transition Card Services - there is no perfect solution - what work's for you may not work for me and I'm sure you would agree.

Your bad experiences and disappoints are shared as we all have had many personal experiences - that's why we have choices and so do YOU - if one service does not meet your expectations, YOU do have the option to move on. Don't whine, do something, do your homework - you will find what's best for you !!!

Best advice - do your homework - you will find a Service that WORKS for you ....

Trust me - if you consider another Service Provider - READ THE DETAILS (policy and terms of agreements) - there is no one to blame but yourself unless you hired legal support to manage this for you. (We did this and it was worth the expense.)

I would greatly appreciate it if you felt like letting me know what is entailed with hiring "legal support" e.g. who that is or where to find it, as I do not know how to find such a person or company.

I hope that you can understand, going forward, that accusing someone of "whining" who is simply attempting to provide customer feedback to a company they are doing business with comes off as extremely condescending and rude.
