I totally get how confusing it feels — Square still treats classes like services, so customers have to pick date/time even for a one-off. There isn’t a way right now to skip that step. Some people use a calendar tool like Calendly or a third-party event plugin and link the payment back to Square, but it’s not perfect. Definitely worth sending feedback — simpler class checkout would help a lot of businesses.

heres the link to leave the feedback : https://community.squareup.com/t5/Feedback/ct-p/feedback

Class checkout flow

From my Square online site, I cannot figure out how to effectively present classes to our customers.

I tried the using the Classes feature provided with appointments.

Then I create a widget and added that to a page using an embed section.

The class shows up in a weird context (like an external link)

When the user selects the class and clicks Next, they are prompted to select a date and time.

This is really confusing for a user. It's a one time class that occurs on a specific date and time. Why can't I get rid of that step in the check out flow?

I toyed with using a different item type, but it doesn't provide any of the class functionality that we need.

I'm looking at other apps to use instead, I'm open to suggestions.

Thank you for jumping in on this, @Stacelyn24! And thank you @A3L for your post.

I checked with our Appointments team on this and when it comes to Classes with Square Appointments, they recommended going over this article when setting up classes, as it may be a helpful guide. What they also said is you can then access your booking link here, but they were unfamiliar with the widget that you mentioned.

When you click "View" on your Class booking site, you can also select an individual class session (with date/time), and then include just that particular URL on your website. This would work if you are just trying to link out to an individual class session.

I hope this helps a bit. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
