thread Editing Appointments Disabled in Appointments & Bookings

Hello,

Within the last 2 days (posting 2/13/2025), I noticed a change to Square Appointments that prohibits me (owner/manager) from making adjustments to appointments after the appointment is created. These limitations include: changing the appointment type, adding an appointment, changing the service provider, and adjusting the appointment total.

This is highly frustrating because these types of adjustments are made to appointments several times a day. Right now the only solution I have for adjusting appointments is to cancel the appointment and recreate with the correct settings.

Again, this was never an issue before. The issue seems to be an update that was made within the last 24-48 hours. Please help or advise on how to make the adjustments.

That is super frustrating. Are working from the desktop dashboard? I just tried to replicate your issue and did not have a problem editing, for example, the type of appointment.

It would have to have been an appointment made by a client within the last two days from the booking site to replicate the issue.

But yes I'm having the same issue here. If a client books from our site, and prepays, I then cannot edit anything but the date and time of their appointment. I can however still adjust appointments that were made before this started two days ago.

Hello,

This is happening again. I am unable to make changes to appointments that are booked online by clients. We have several clients weekly that ask to add a service to their appointment, switch the appointment entirely, or adjust the staff member they are scheduled with. We cannot accommodate these requests because the appointment editor locks down appointments that were scheduled online. To adjust, I need to cancel the appointment then recreate. I notice that using the desktop version of square then switching to the legacy editor is a solution, but this is not adequate because it cannot be done on the app.

Square - sellers should maintain full control of the client appointments. All aspects of it - price, time, staff member, service, variation, duration, etc. No part of the appointment should be restricted to the business. Please address this issue by allowing full control of any appointment on the business's calendar.
