I believe it depends on where you're trying to enter the $0 dollar amount. Online I don't think that is possible or on the POS App however, you can using Virtual Terminal. Perhaps some of the other volunteers here have so thoughts.

Could you share a bit more details about how you are trying to take your payment (from the Virtual Terminal, the app, Square Invoices etc.) ? Or are you able to share a screenshot ? This will help me understand a bit better what the issue is.
