Is there a way to have clients put in their credit card to "hold" the appointment and then use that data to complete the transaction after the service and to then allow for tip as well?

Here is an article on setting up clients with appointments and collect card info for future use. Note though that this isn't a Pre-Authorization.

Yes, once they have the card on file when booking an appointment (hold), it is on file and can be used if you or the customer wants to use that form of payment. They don’t have to use that if they don’t want to. For example, I have a client who writes me a check, but has her card on file for late cancellation or no show, which she has never done.
