How can I have a resource available for multiple appointments?

HI - we have 4 chairs for one service and I'm not clear how I can set up resources so that it can book up to 4 appointments and does not get blocked if only 1 books.

Any help?

To set up resources in Square Appointments so that multiple appointments can be booked for a single service without blocking the resource when only one appointment is made, you can follow these steps:

Step-by-Step Guide to Setting Up Multiple Resources

Log in to your Square Dashboard:
- Go to the Square Dashboard.
Navigate to Appointments:
- Select Appointments from the main menu.
Set Up Resources:
- In the Appointments section, go to Settings.
- Select Resources & Staff.
Add Resources:
- Click on Add Resource.
- Create a resource for each of your 4 chairs.
  - For example, name them "Chair 1," "Chair 2," "Chair 3," and "Chair 4."
Configure Availability:
- Set the availability for each chair to match your business hours.
- Ensure that the chairs' availability does not overlap if they need to be booked separately.
Assign Resources to Services:
- Go to Services within the Appointments settings.
- Select the service that uses the chairs.
- Assign all 4 chairs as resources for that service.
Booking Settings:

This article is very helpful, but as of Sept 2024, the UI is a little different.

In step 3, I found "Resources" under Appointments > Library > Services > Resources instead of Appointments > Settings > Resources & Staff (thanks to customer success rep).

*This feature requires Appointments Premium plan.

Hi there, @TheDowntownDIY!

As of September 2024, "Resources" is now found under Appointments > Library > Services > Resources instead of Appointments > Settings > Resources & Staff, where you should be able to set up resource availability.
