thread Heads up: iOS 26.2 + Visual Intelligence makes adding dates to Calendar much easier in Retail & eCommerce

If you’ve noticed that dates in Messages don’t always show up as tappable links anymore, there’s a useful workaround built into iOS 26.x thanks to Apple’s new Visual Intelligence (VI) features.

All you need to do is:

Take a screenshot of the message that contains the date/time.

When the screenshot preview pops up, Visual Intelligence detects the date.

You’ll see an “Add to Calendar” option right there.

Tap it and it creates the event instantly.

This isn’t about phishing or link blocking — Apple has simply added system-wide VI that recognises dates in images/screenshot previews. It works across Messages, email, web pages, social posts, etc.

Useful little quality-of-life improvement if you use Messages to confirm appointments or deliveries with clients like we do. Have fun (and it works on UK & USA date formats - hoorah)
