Has anyone out there had experience with email marketing?

I do a little bit of email marketing, i am by no means an expert. I am pet retail so my method might not work for you.

I try to ensure I sent a few 10% off coupons out 3-10 times a year. I dont see huge success with it, but it is often utilized by my frequent customers. I think of it as a loyalty thank you, more than a new business maker

I haven't personally figured out our cafe's approach to this but have also been equally curious!

As with most marketing initiatives, it has to be tailored to a very specific audience. Are your clients of a particular demographic? Do they find themselves on one social media platform more than another?

Being a bricks and mortar food business ourselves, social media seems the more intuitive choice, but I've always been intimidated by how quickly the algorithms can change and how a well-manicured feed doesn't necessarily equal gangbuster sales figures... so YMMV if that's an option you're also considering.

Don't be afraid to try some low-stakes experiments with perhaps a small group of your customers! Square makes it super easy for you to do just that. 🙂

Yes! It works. Email is a huge deal. Don't skip on this.

Email gets better results. Better than social media. So many reasons why you should do it.

If you ask any successful business, soloprenuer, or freelancer, they'll say email is part of it. I mean, I just landed in this seller community from a Square email lol.

One tip I can offer is the 5/2 rule. So if you automate or manually send email campaigns, you should only sell or pitch services after providing value, education, or entertainment types of messaging. So send 5 "value emails'', and then follow that with 2 "sales/pitch" emails. And just continue to do that...forever. People hate spam. But if you're providing good content, tips, advice, education, and stuff, they'll trust you as a great pool or resource. When you earn trust first, they'll buy from you more versus just blasting out 50% deals on a product they may or may not be interested in.

Ive been using them for amazing biz tools for years now. And they are super cheap. The email software I use is called SendFox. Been on it for a few years and love it. I switched to this from a paid MailChimp account. Send fox is only $29 for life. I was paying mailchimp $25/mo for a few years till I switched.
