Is it possible to increase the font size on my POS system??

i am visually impaired and just started using a Square POS. The font size is very difficult for me to read. Is it possible to increase the font size?

Hi @ljmodena718, I appreciate you reaching out here on the Square Community. Welcome!

Unfortunately, there is not a way to permanently change the font size on your device. We do offer a magnification function through our accessibility settings that may be helpful for you.

To enable this function, please feel free to follow these steps:

Open the point of sale app on your Square Terminal, Square Handheld, or Square Register. If you are signed out, you can tap Change Settings, then select Accessibility.
Tap ≡ More, followed by pressing Settings, followed by Hardware, then select Accessibility.
Toggle Magnification ON, and you should be good to go!

Once you've enabled magnification on your device, here are some helpful tips on how to use it:

Triple-tap the main display screen with one finger to enlarge that area of the display. This is the only magnification level available and cannot be adjusted.
Using a two finger touch, press, hold and drag two finger tips around the screen to pan around the display.
Triple tap to stop magnification and revert to a normal display experience.

We too are having issues since the latest update (5.59.0115). All of our cashiers are over 60 and the font is too small. Using Magnification is not a workable solution! Can we revert to the prior update? We are using v1 hardware and are pondering if we move to v2. Will font customization be available in v2 hardware?

Square doesn't actually have a built-in font dial, so you need to adjust the Text Size or 'Display Zoom' in your iPad or Android device's main settings instead. I run into similar text rendering issues often recently while working on a krutidev to unicode project and found that relying on global accessibility settings is usually the only way to force apps to display larger text. Hopefully, changing the system wide zoom helps make the screen readable for you."
