Disable Spell Checking

I use the Square Register in a multi-language environment. The auto-correct spellchecker constantly causes me a headache when adding new items via the terminal.

Does anyone know a way to disable the spellchecking feature?

Edit: I just read through some old posts and it may not be possible to turn it off on the Register.

You will have to disable spell check in the general settings of the iPad or Register

For iPad

Open the Settings app
Tap General
Tap Keyboard
Toggle Auto-Correction to Off

The register runs on Android, so these instructions are for Android. I don’t use the Square Register ( we use the Square stand) so this may or may not be the location to turn off auto correct.

Go to the Settings menu
Tap Languages and input
Select Android Keyboard
Select Text correction
Slide the toggle next to Auto-correction to deactivate

I am DESPERATE to turn off spell check. It's killing me because we use alpha codes to distinguish items -- this cannot be changed -- and the system constantly 'corrects' perfectly accurate entrees into useless English words. I spend hours each month deciphering.

My register does not have the same menu options as listed above. I don't see any 'Languages' option under Settings. As far as I can tell we are getting software/system updates regularly, so although the Register is 3 or 4 years old, I think it's up-to-date. Can anyone help?

This must be a newish feature. I kept assuming I was typing incorrectly! No! Turns out its auto correcting my English ... usually with French words!! Its bloody annoying and takes much longer to enter correct item descriptions. I also have the square till system and there is no way to turn it off!

Please fix this!!

P.S Before any one comments that I have the language set to French..... Non I do not!!
