Dang that sucks but I guess that’s what I figured. We just want to use it as a stand - we won’t be using it for POS anymore. I see you’re labeled as a Square expert haha - do you think the usb ports that are a part of the cable can support audio output? I haven’t been able to find documentation that goes into the extent of what they’re compatible with and I don’t have anything to test it with yet

I have an old 1st gen ipad stand that I'd like to start using again but I also need access to the headphone jack but there's a locking pin that goes into the headphone jack - is there any way to remove this?

@kj9 I never found a way to remove it without damaging the stand. It's meant to be very secure, for the obvious reasons. You're not trying to use one of those old iPads as a POS anymore, are you? Square POS apps don't support them anymore.

@kj9 as I recall, those USB ports were USB 2.0 (? don't quote me on that... LOL). This is not really a Square question, but I can say that it should, but if it doesn't this is more a tech issue with whatever USB standard Square used for that stand. I wouldn't know where to go to find that info. Trial and error is probably as good as anything here. (Which is why obsolete tech is going to be the death of humanity (after really bad politics)). Thankfully, BestBuy and others will refund your money in a reasonable period of time. I'm on a first-name basis with the Returns desk at mine, mostly for that very quandary you are facing now. Please do us a favor and post back here if you take that leap of faith and learn something.

Sorry not to be more helpful.
