Zebra ZD410 Barcode printer not recognizing

Hey guys,

Square Register does not recognize Zebra ZD410 barcode printer When I connect it to the USB hub. Does anyone encounter same issue? I am trying to print barcodes(price tags). Should I connect it to laptop to

do it?

Welcome to the Square user Forum.

Yes I would recommend connecting the ZD410 to the laptop or desktop to print your labels. Since the Desktop or Laptop can see the Printer better than the Register. I actually have a Dedicated Computer for printing my labels to 5 different Zebra Label Printers.

I have been on the phone with tech support on this same issue multiple times and the final answer was that they just decided to make the ZD410 incompatible with the older Square stand. I do not have the laptop option for my employees and this was a major disruption to my business. I have opinions about the ethics of this but it is basically forcing a purchase of a new printer, newer stand, or a laptop. It's considerably frustrating.
