Reminders for employees

Is there any way to set a reminder for a register/employee?

An example use case would be on X date (and/or time), a reminder pops up that a customer will be coming in to pick up an item, or "Bake 10 breads for Jim this afternoon".

This could pop up in the "notifications" tab on the register.

I see references to similar, although not identical, requests in the forums, but dont see any solutions.
