Prevent discounts on certain categories

It seems very odd to me that a basic feature of being able to restrict discounts from certain categories of products has not been implemented? or am I missing something?

I can guarantee almost any business using discounts has some category of products that cannot be discounted (for example, all clothing is discounted but repair services to clothing like mending are not discounted). The list would go on! Square really is behind on this as any other POS system does this by default!!!

Hello there @PECishBakinCo

While I'm not sure how you process your discounts at your business, I would recommend creating Automatic Discounts as you are able to set up which items or categories qualify for the discount being applied. You can also schedule when to start and end the specific discount.

Automatic Discounts can be set up from your Square Dashboard's Discount page.

This doesn't even remotely answer the question that was asked. How is this still continually being asked YEARS later. Square needs to step up.
