Hello,

Need to understand rounding behavior of square in cases of partial refunds.

Let's say make a sale of 10.23 with 2 items - Hat $5.20 and shirt $5.03.

The sale amount gets rounded to 10.25 (assuming swedish rounding, I know that Square uses bankers rounding but just lets go with this for the sake of an example).

When the buyer returns the second item: $5.03 (incl. taxes), is the rounding applied on this amount? So the refund amount will be rounded to $5.05?

Hello @simianation,

Since Canadians don't have pennies and only have nickels, you can not give back $5.03 in cash. You could only give back $5.05. Now, if it's a debit card, then you can use pennies and return the exact amount.

Thank you for your understanding. I hope this is helpful.
