Why does my reader say "pairing rejected by Square reader"?

I have a market I am going to tomorrow and need to get this things working. I cannot get it to pair with my phone.

I go into Bluetooth settings and select, 'Pair a New Device'

Square Reader 7458 is on the list

I select, but my phone says, "Pairing rejected by Square Reader 7458"

Help!!

Hello @WishyWashyCloth! I'm sorry for the frustration.

Can you try pairing the reader from the Point of Sale app instead? Open the Point of Sale app, tap Settings > Card Reader > Connect a reader/Contactless + Chip Reader? Here are step-by-step instructions to pair the reader. If you start from the Bluetooth section on your phone you'll see an error.

Try to pair your device through the Point of Sale app and let me know how you get along!
