Is it possible to adapt a 1st generation stand to a USB or 12V power source?

I currently have a 1st generation stand with an AC power adaptor and I was wondering if it would be possible to use an adaptor to use a USB power source or even a 12V car port? I'm running the system with a battery pack and the conversion from DC->AC->DC loses about 30% of the power.

We don't recommend using a different charger for your Square Stand aside from the one that it came with to avoid any malfunctions or damage. If you happen to need it, your Square Stand and its accessories are covered by a one-year warranty and you can always contact our Support Team for a replacement power adaptor.

So, no. There is no usb power option for the 1st generation Square point of sale.
