&lt;P style="margin: 0;"&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;Square Terminal software updates include a system update, Square apps update, and a firmware update.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P style="margin: 0;"&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;If you prefer not to leave your hardware on and plugged in overnight, here's how you can manually update your system first thing in the morning.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

From the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen, tap ≡ &lt;STRONG&gt;More &amp;gt; Settings &amp;gt; Hardware&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;2. Tap &lt;STRONG&gt;General &amp;gt; About Terminal &amp;gt; Software Update&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;3. Tap&lt;STRONG&gt; Check for Update&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

You are not able to accept card payments until the firmware update is complete, which typically takes 15-20 minutes.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
