dipped chip not auto populating custom ticket name

When dipping the card, the chip is supposed to read the name off the card and auto-populate the custom name for the ticket. I realize that not all cards will have this, but I tried every single one of my own 6 cards (both debit and credit) and none of them seem to work. Brands are: Capital One, RBC debit, RBC visa, PC Financial MC, RBC business debit, Walmart MC. It is highly suspicious that not a single one will work. I have powered the reader down, disconnect, reconnect with the same poor results. Any suggestions?
