&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;That is correct. Square’s hardware is only approved for use in the country for which it is intended. Which means that hardware sold in the US cannot be used in Canada. We provide more information about this &lt;A href="https://squareup.com/help/ca/en/article/4956-international-availability" target="_self"&gt;here&lt;/A&gt;.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;There is currently no way to change the set country of a hardware and you will have to exchange the Terminal for a new one.&amp;nbsp;Did you purchase your Terminal on the CA Square Shop or through one of our retailers ?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Bought a square terminal in Canada and can not get it to show the tap/swipe/insert screen and after calling the support line, it turns out the Terminals Payment Region is set to United States. My questions, is the payment region in the device determined by where you buy the device?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I assume there is no way to change it so I’d have to return it and hope the Payment Region is set to Canada?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
