&lt;P&gt;I'm sorry to hear about the issue with updating your reader...I'm going to list some things to try to get it to connect.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Force quit the Square App and re-pair the reader:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;From the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Swipe up on the Square POS app's preview to force close the app.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/OL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Forget and re-pair the reader:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;On your device, go to&amp;nbsp;Settings &amp;gt; Bluetooth&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Tap the&amp;nbsp;Square Reader.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Tap&amp;nbsp;Forget This Device.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Attempt the&amp;nbsp;Pair R12d to Your Device via Bluetooth procedure below.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/OL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;To re-pair the reader:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Open the Square POS app, sign in, and go to&amp;nbsp;More &amp;gt; Settings &amp;gt; Hardware &amp;gt; Square card readers.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Tap&amp;nbsp;Connect a Reader.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Put your reader into pairing mode:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Firmly press and hold the button on the back of your reader.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Release the button once you observe your reader’s 4 LEDs flash orange. See&amp;nbsp;Pairing Mode&amp;nbsp;below for additional information.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Follow all onscreen instructions. Android users may be prompted to pair their R12d twice.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/OL&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Observe your reader’s LEDs.
&lt;UL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;If pairing succeeds, the 4 LEDs will flash solid green for 2 seconds.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;If pairing fails, the 4 LEDs will flash solid red for 2 seconds.&lt;/LI&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Has anybody been able to update the reader since the release of iOS 18? &amp;nbsp;I haven’t been able to use it since. &amp;nbsp;Fortunately I can use the app on my phone but it limits me to tap only. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for your help, but this did not solve the issue. &amp;nbsp;It still tells me I need to update my reader. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
