Scanner for QR Codes on E-Gift Cards

We have the square register and the Zebra Symbol ls2208. We did not know that it cannot scan qr codes for e-gift cards. I think we need a 2d scanner is that correct? Which ones will work for the square register? Any other considerations? Disappointed that we didn't know this at the beginning and have to buy another scanner.

I currently have 2 styles of 2D scanners that work with my Square Stands. In Square Hardware thay show as DS6707 but they are DS2208 and a DS6878 both of which connect to my Square Stand Hub by USB. The difference is the DS2208 is corded from the Hub to the scanner (Like the LS2208), where as the ds6878 is wired to a Charaging Cradle then cordless from Cradle to the Hand held Scanner.

Now having the 2D scanner will read e-gift cards QR codes but I am not sure how those are supported with Square, or when you scan them to a register.
