Why are some Android devices supported while others are not?

It does not say Samsung Galaxy A15 is compatible. A14 is. Why not test A15 and confirm it is compatible? I don't want to buy a new phone just so it is compatible with Square card reader. It is $300 for new Samsung Galaxy A15 phone. I only just bought it about 6 months ago so don't want to replace phone.

The Samsung Galaxy A15 is not currently supported by Square. While we aim to support all Android devices, there are thousands of different models, and sometimes even if a device meets all the compatibility requirements, it may not communicate properly with Square hardware or apps.

To find out which Android devices are fully compatible with Square, we recommend checking our compatibility page for a list of devices we guarantee will work.

If you've already ordered a reader, you're welcome to return it within 30 days of purchase.

In the meantime, you can still accept credit card payments by manually entering payment information, sending invoices, or using Virtual Terminal on your computer.

You have tested Samsung Galaxy A14.

I will test Samsung Galaxy A15 with Square card reader when it arrives then I will know as you won't test it.

I paired new warranty claim Square card reader in Bluetooth area under settings in Samsung Galaxy A15 by:

- open settings | Bluetooth | devices on Samsung Galaxy A15

- waiting till 4 orange dots stopped flashing on Square card reader (not while orange dots are still flashing)

- powering it up with 4 orange dots

- pairing with 2 pair requests

- waiting for updates to Square card reader to finish

- making payment successfully

This is undocumented feature.

Compatibility list should now include Samsung Galaxy A15.

In Square app on Samsung Galaxy A15, pairing was spinning wheel that never ended so Bluetooth way above is only way to pair.
