Does square terminal pair with the Square POS app? I’m having a hard time figuring out how to pair with my app on iPad. ..?

I'm not sure what you mean by pair it. It is a standalone piece of hardware. Once you log into your account on the terminal all your POS settings and items will be on the Square Terminal. We have 3 and love them.

I think I understand @Gmanis question, as I have the same one. Kind of.

I would like to get the new terminal, so that I can take debit transactions in Canada.

I want to know if I am able to use the app on my ipad for me to input the transaction, its large screen and keyboard are easier to operate behind my table, I would then pass the terminal to the customer to complete payment.

Is this possible.

Yeah, I feel you - It can be difficult to use the keypad on the Terminal's small screen. Unfortunately, it cannot sync to your iPad that way. The terminal is designed to be a stand alone POS device.

That's a shame it won't connect. We wanted to also use the larger screen on an ipad for speed and connect the Ipad to our printer to print order tickets but also take offline payments and print order ticket stubs and receipts from the terminal.

Thanks for reaching out.

I just want to make sure I understand correctly. You want to use the ipad to connect to your printer, take offline payments and print order tickets . And the terminal just process the actual payment and print receipts correct?

Because you can connect the Square POS app to the Terminal through the settings.

log on to your pos on your iPad, go to devices and connect device then choose square terminal. Make sure you are logged out of the square terminal and then pick connect with code your iPad will have a code and then allow you to allow the customer to make card payment and see transaction via the terminal.
