Combo discount Help

Hi, I want to create a discount if someone purchases a combo (sandwich, chips, drink). I sell each item separately, but I want to give them a $1 discount if they buy all three together. how do I do that? I want to keep these items as separate items because I track inventory against them. I've been playing around with the discount tool, and I can't figure out how to apply the discount if they only purchase that specific combination of items.

Hello @gvsllas !

Yeah, combining things into a combo has always been a weak point with the POS. The only way I've found that works well is to add a manual discount to the order when the correct three items are sold. This doesn't allow for any automatic discounts and won't work for online sales.

However, if you're using Square for Restaurants or willing to convert over to it, you may be interested in a beta or two that will solve this problem. Head over to the beta page, sign up if you haven't already, and dig through the Featured Tests section.

Appreciate your insight, @ryanwanner, this is correct. The beta page is a great idea as well.

One thing you may be able to do is create new items, for example: ‘Combo 1’, with a discounted price to represent the deal. This unfortunately would not remove stock from the item components though. If you are subscribed to Square for Retail Plus, we do offer Bundles, which could be a potential workaround.
