i would love to purchase the square terminal but i work in a salon with other stylists, so i would want the square terminal to have a password before using it!

You can enable team passcodes from your Square Point of Sale app. Open your Square app, and select ≡ More > Settings > Security. Toggle on Passcodes

As @willowsky mentioned, passcodes are your best bet (even if you're the only one using it). If you're looking for additional information from Square: Require Passcodes.
