Sales Tax Question

Hi Square Community,

We operate a brick-and-mortar store in Virginia and are now doing out-of-state events where we need to collect sales tax for each specific state and remit it accordingly. I've already set up sales tax rates through Square Terminal (the device we use at events), but I’m running into an issue.

While at an event in Pennsylvania, the system automatically charged the Pennsylvania sales tax rate, but also changed the tax rate at our Square stand at our brick-and-mortar store. Is there a way to easily collect different tax rates depending on the state we’re in, specifically from the device during checkout?

Any advice or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

At what point in the transaction are you seeing the tax rate change? Does it change within your settings as well?
