Sticky Label Printers and Square Register

Hi Folks,

I am looking at replacing my current ticket printer with a TSP654IISK Thermal Printer (the sticky label printer). I did a search and there does not seem to be any clear answers if this printer will work with square register or not. I need to have the USB version as my Ethernet connection is on different floor if that matters.

If anyone can offer advice or a different way to handle coffee orders I'd appreciate it!

The Star Micronics TSP654IISK is compatible with the Square Register, both as USB or Ethernet printer. It sounds like you'd go for the USB option, which you can simply plug in to the hub on your Square Register. Next, you'll want to create a printer station by following these steps.

UPDATE:

We installed and started using this printer today. So far so good! Installation was super easy and I'm expecting it to really help with coffee business this weekend.

If I could get the tickets to print a little smaller (less header margin) it would be nice, but that's just nitpicking.

Hi - are there any updates on how to make these prep station tickets smaller? Even after clicking the "compact ticket' button there's still a lot of wasted space printed.

Hello, does anyone know where to buy the USB option printer because I bought the TSP654IISK on the square site under the impression that it could be used as ethernet or USB but it can only be used as an ethernet printer.

Hello,

The Square website says that the label printer must be connected by ethernet connection only. Is that a change from 2021? I can do ethernet in some environments, but the usb option gives me more flexibility...

My confusion, and I suspect some other people's confusion, is that the Star TSP654IISK Sticky Label Printer currently says that it is ethernet only, but past messages imply that there is (or was) a usb sticky/label printer option. Is there a usb sticky/label printer option?

The reality is that while we don't currently sell the TSP654IISK Thermal Printer with USB Interface in our Hardware Shop it is compatible with the Square Stand and Square Register.
