Checking out with Boutique and Salon and customizing TIPs.

Looking for a resolution. Can you customize the permissions settings to what transactions get a tip line?

f/e - a front desk checking out a boutique retail customer vs. a service provider checking out from salon services.

I wish we could just make services have tips and items not.

Help?!

Hello there, @the505

The best way to accomplish this is by using Device Profiles. Device Profiles will allow you to have settings per device, allowing you to set the Front Desk as a No Tipping Location vs Service Providers.

Sign in to your Square Dashboard.
Go to Settings > Device Management > Modes.
Select the device profile for the location where you want to enable tipping.
Click Manage under Settings and toggle on Collect Tips.
Set your tipping preferences accordingly.
Do the opposite on a second profile to disable tipping

Tipping cannot be applied on the item level. So, the solution I shared earlier is the only option at this time, @the505.
