I have a 1st generation Square stand, what generation of iPad will work with it?

I have a 1st generation (s142) Square Stand and I was wanting to know what generation of iPads will work with it and can I still get the software to support it.

@tonelle74design Welcome to the community, Below is a chart of what iPads work worse he first gen. Square stand.

These iPads do not receive updates from Apple anymore — no security patches, no app compatibility guarantees, and most current apps (including Square POS) may not install or run properly.

Do you know if 9th generation iPad will work with 1st generation stand?

No unfortunately, the 9th gen iPad has a lighting connector. The 1st gen Square stand has a 30 pin connector.

The left side is a 30 pin connector, the right side is the lightning connector.

Hi @tonelle74design

I think "1st generation" can apply to both 30-pin Square Stands (S015) and lightning (S142).

The issue you will have is whether the stand is for a 9.7" iPad (last version: iPad 6th generation - 2018), or 10.2" iPad (iPad 7th generation - 2019 on until USB-C iPads came).

I held onto my 9.7" Square Stand until this week. It was time, given the lack of updates and how slow the devices have become with the latest software.
