Using Square for Restaurants and wondering if square appointments would work for making restaurant reservations?

Hey there!! At this time, this is still a large feature request within our Restaurants community. While you are able to use appointments to book reservations, the integration would not be fluid, since they aren't designed to work together, and the two apps would have to work separately from each other.

This is a great feature request though and I will be sure to pass it along to the right teams!

Thank you for the response Ashley. I actually played around a little with the appointments feature and it doesn't work at all for reservations.

An integrated restaurant reservations system for square would be great so thanks for passing that request along.

Hey @Aidehini,

I don't think Appointments would be the best option for that kind of business set-up based on how it's designed.

You might want to look into our Square Restaurants and see if that's something that could work for you.

Oh noooo!! Looks like this post was removed or the link is broken. Is it still available anywhere?

Would love to hear if there are any news on the table booking system or if the workaround video is still up somewhere. I tried to use the calendar in the past and it really didn't work so well for us.

It looks like the post was archived so it might of been a temporary workaround.

I reached out to the Restaurants team for clarity and to see if there's any other workarounds or news about this to provide so hang tight and I'll loop back once I hear back.

Definitely interested in testing this. I have a paint your own pottery studio and we need a way to offer table seatings. I have quite a few collegues that use Square POS around the country who I imagine would be interested once it is available too.

Is there any possible way to utilize square appointments for direct Restaurant Reservations? Especially under the current circumstances, this is most definitely a huge need for small independent Restaurants trying to navigate these times, while also adhering to new safety standards and severely limited capacity abilities due to covid. If there is no option yet, can you please let us know if there's any kind of eta on this matter, surely we're not the only ones practically begging for a solution at this point.

Is there any update to this? If there's one thing that could substantially help independently owned restaurants out right now under the circumstances, it would be a reservation solution. With increased mandatory safety measures, also means decreased / limited capacity abilities... having the ability to streamline this online would be optimal. Please help.
