Weight-based shipping from "buy" buttons

I am creating an embedded "buy" button, but it's shipping cost seems to only be allowed to be a flat amount, controlled by the settings here: https://squareup.com/dashboard/ecom/settings/general

Instead, I want the weight of the item to determine its shipping. Is this not possible with embedded "buy" buttons?

I did email support, but their solution did not work. The calculated shipping remains flat and does not change based on weight. I've replied back to them with this information. If they can find a workaround, I'll post it here.
