Square Online: for pre-order, is there a way to set the date when the credit-card is charged?

hi,

I'm setting up Square online with items avaialble for pre-order.

the question is, we want to charge the customers only when we have the inventory. is there a way to take the customer's credit-card (like authorization only with zero dollar or small amount) then charge the customer in full when we are ready to ship?

Hello Alexhuang888,

I'm not sure that you can take a deposit via your online website and I know that you cannot do a zero dollar amount regardless of what method you choose. However, you can take a deposit using Square Invoices - see this info. That may or may not work for you but, it does give you a work around. Perhaps some other Community members have some thoughts.

Thanks. it may not work with our existing flow. but with square invoice, I think we may have another path to do pre-order.
