Hi! Our salon is offering $10 off all sales and I want to mirror that to our online shop. How can i create an automatic discount for online shoppers?

Setting up the auto discount is slightly a process, but a relatively easy one to get rolling.

Dashboard -> Items -> Discounts -> Create New
Name your discount, put the 10% rate in.
Turn on the Discount Rules option under Automatic Discount
On the box that pops up, choose Item or Category
Currently you can't do category-specific discounts for the online store, so you'll either have to choose all items from the list, or if your dashboard has it, select the All Items option.
Continue scrolling down, make sure Square Online is checked for where the discount should apply.
I recommend setting a date range here as well. This way you won't have to remember to come back to this screen to turn the discount off.
Configure the other sections as you see fit.

Now, whenever anyone makes a purchase on the online store within the time parameter, the discount will automatically apply. Same goes for all in-store sales: you won't have to add the discount manually.

Hi! thanks so much for your reply! I'm having issues though with the item rules because the $10 discount applies to each product if they purchase more than one. I want to do a discount that takes $10 off total sale. Is there a way to do that?

@janneeds_help Oh, shoot. My apologies, I missed the dollar sign. I was thinking percentage off of the order, which my steps would let you do easily.

With dollar amount discounts, I don't think there is a way to do them automatically. I think your best bet would be to set up a coupon and a popup alerting your visitors to the discount.

Coupon:

Dashboard > Marketing > Coupons > Add Coupon
Configure the coupon with a name, the dollar discount, and for the entire sale. Don't forget to set your end date!

Popup:

Dashboard > Online > Communications > Pop-ups
Choose to offer a coupon
On the next screen, choose the coupon you created earlier (it may take a few minutes for it to show on this list)
Configure the coupon popup however you want.

Now when someone hits your site, they'll see the alert and the coupon code they need to enter at checkout.
