How do I do pre-orders for items I don't have in stock yet?

Hi, I am trying to set up pre-orders for items that come out in the future. I set up an item and made it a pre-order for a certain window of time (usually up to 2-3 weeks before it is released). What I want to do is use this to help me know how many of the item to order from my distributor. So after the pre-order window closes I'll know how many I need to order.

But I don't have any in stock yet so the item doesn't show up on my web site as available to order. It doesn't make sense to put in a some made-up stock amount so it will appear since I don't have iany in stock yet. How do I handle this situation?

Hi @will6 - I know dealing with pre-orders can be a little confusing, so I am happy to help.

You are not required to track stock on items. If you prefer, you can toggle that off in your Item Library on the Dashboard.
