My Square Online Item has Variations - how to change their order?

I am using Square Online. I create Items and Variations within each Item.

I use a URL for a payment button on my website.

These Variations are ordered in a drop down menu based on the creation order of each Variation.

How do I rearrange some of these Variations?

It would be helpful if you would provide a link to your website so we can better understand your concern. Just curious as you have your site setup, are you providing the payment link button to sell one specific item and skip using the shopping cart? Although the volunteer Community Members are not the same as Tech or Customer Support, there is quite a bit of hands-on experience using Square's Apps and Hardware.

Hello @James-Timmy !

Using payment links may be a little different, but for the main Square Online stores you can rearrange variations by going to:

Dashboard -> Online -> Items -> Site Items -> [your item]. Scroll down to your variations section then hit the Add/Manage Variations link on the right. Reorder your variations by clicking/tapping and dragging the six dots to the left of the variation name.

I do not see any option to change the order of Variations from how they were added. This is incredibly frustrating.

Here is the Payment Link for Fun Tastings (wine classes). You can see by the three at the bottom that they are not in chronological order. I would prefer the classes to either be in chronological order or alphabetical order.

Or, I would like to create a link to "go directly to" the desired Variation.

Would appreciate HELP! from more experienced Square users! I would think there would be a way to manually change the orders of these Variations!!

I just replied but I don't see my reply on this thread, so I'm doing it again.

Your directions were fine up until " hit the Add/Manage Variations link on the right." Here's how I got it done instead:

Under Options & Pricing, and under the Add Options Button is the Hamburger for Modify Options (and Remove from Item) choice(s). Clicking Modify Options gave me a pop-up that allowed drag & drop to reorder the Variations. Definitely NOT INTUITIVE OR EASY TO FIND!!

So, again, thank you for putting me very close to the "finish line" to the issue at hand!

I never use that right menu manage variations approach. If you click on the main item record and scroll down the page where the variations are listed, there are three horizontal bars to the left of each. You can drag from there.

Neither of the methods above seem to work anymore. Square support just told me I can't re-order variations.
