Pizza shop help

Need suggestions on how you all set up half and half pizzas on your register and online. You would think square would have figured this out by now! It’s a simple issue that is a necessity for pizza shop owners. But without the option, what do you all do to work around it?

Hey @Twoboysdad. Here in the seller community we don’t try to get into what Square “should have” figured out by now. But since you asked for a workaround, how would one of these work for you?

Option 1 — you could create two duplicate topping modifier sets, one called “Whole Pie Toppings (or Half-Pie Side 1 Toppings)” and the second called “Half-Pie Side 2 Toppings.” Make the first one required for all pies, and the second one optional. Then customers could build their own.

A less confusion option would be to create a new item called something like “Build Your Own Half & Half.” Then you’d have Side One and Side Two toppings, both required, both containing the same toppings choices.

Naturally, either option requires maintaining two duplicate toppings modifier sets, but both would work as long as your toppings list isn’t too crazy long. Otherwise, I can’t really think of a better work-around.
