BUG REPORT: Website item sales incorrectly default to Store Pickup when default is Shipping

Around the time "Pickup and delivery address updates moved to Square locations on 08/08", items selected on our website started defaulting to "Store Pickup" when "Shipping" had previously been the default (and was still set as the default). We made no changes whatsoever in this area to our site.

We have tried multiple combinations of changes to fix this, unpublishing and republishing the website each time. We have tried:

1) Removing Store Pickup entirely then reinstating it.

2) Changing Advanced Settings ... Default Fulfillment Method to Store Pickup and back again.

Nothing we have tried fixes this. It sometimes defaults correctly to Shipping for one item but then reverts to Store Pickup.

I engaged customer support who went through several combinations which didn't work, They eventually said they would report it up the chain but we never heard anything back.

Please can this be fixed? We are getting multiple orders where the customer isn't noticing Store Pickup and we are having to send them separate postage invoices.

Same bug - spent 10 mins trying to fix it up - but all my listings are defaulting to pickup, despite my checkout settings defaulting to shipping (which used to be the default behaviour at some stage, not sure when this bug started)

@phantomwhale Support have been in touch directly and found that they had no issues with all items correctly defaulted to shipping.

We have discovered that if we choose Shipping and add an item to the cart, then shipping is set as the default from then on.

All items also correctly default to shipping after deleting cookies and the cache for our site.

However, this does not change the fact that there was a bug introduced around the time of "Pickup and delivery address updates moved to Square locations on 08/08" which resulted in "Store Pickup" becoming the default.

It also doesn't fix the problem that our customers' browsers may be incorrectly defaulting to "Store Pickup" now.

Please try the two solutions I mention above and see if they work for you. If they don't then Support should look at your site and investigate. I may have fixed the issue and not realised by the numerous changes I made in an attempt to fix this. Your site may give a clue to the cause of this bug.
