Understanding my analytics

Hi,

I've had my square account since October, and to be honest I haven't done a whole lot with it as I'm not really a tech guy, I just use it to sell my product.

I recently got an email on the 11th March from square to say that I have reached 100 site visits.

So I got excited and I visited my analytics, only to find that I have 0 unique visits, 0 page views and 0 page views per unique visit.

I can only assume it's 1 of 2 things

1. I am adding to those 100 site visits by accidently clicking on my website instead of the admin site

2. I haven't actually had 100 site visits and square have just sent a clever email to me to get me to upgrade my account so that I can see my analytics in detail.

I'm using the free/basic plan at the moment as I need to learn how to orientate and use website data before I purchase the upgraded version.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community on this.

It doesn't sound quite right that your analytics dashboard would be displaying zero across the board, if you have visited your own site at least once.

Would you mind heading over to your Traffic & Sources Dashboard again, and make sure you've set the filter to month view rather than the daily comparison that is ordinarily selected by default?

If it's showing zero on the monthly comparison, could I ask that you share a screenshot of your results and a link to your site, so that I can take a closer look.

Ah, how interesting! I did what you suggested and it worked.

I can't remember though, how for the life of me, I didn't see views before. Thank you so much, I'm 35 but I get confused by technology haha!

And don't worry, it's super easy to overlook filter options. I've done it many times myself and needed to reach out to a colleague for a sanity check 😅
