Using square without entering your inventory

We have a POS system in our store but from time to time the internet crashes so we picked up a square to process payments outside our system till it comes back on-line. Unfortunately the square system seems to need inventory entered, which would be a huge task that we don't want. Can you use the square just as a credit card machine without all the extra work of adding skews / prices etc?

@Jacs Yes you can use the Point of Sale app to ring up and charge a custom amount! Are you encountering a specific issue when you try to do this?
