thread Invalid Gift Card in Online Store

We use plastic gift cards from E-card and have been seeing the error message “Invalid Gift Card” popping up when I swipe to reload and sell the card. These cards have previously been loaded and used with no issue. I also cannot see the card balance history that usually comes up.
I have not changed the iPad or the account to which the cards were issued.

I have about 10 cards so far that are invalid.

Why am I getting this message?
