Apologies if this is the wrong board.

I am looking for feedback about the marketing/email. I don't have over 500 subs yet and see that to email out of Square there is a fee.

For under 500 subs MailChimp is free so want to see what the advantage is to use Square vs MailChimp at this point with less than 500 subs.

I am not familiar with Mail Chimp's service, but one advantage I can think of is having all of your service in the same Square account.

Also, I do not believe there is a direct integration with MailChimp. From what I can tell, you would need to manually export/import your contacts to your MailChimp account. Although if you have a website, you could embed the MailChimp form directly onto your site, and build your email list from there.

Actually there is an app integration for mailchimp that syncs your contacts.

Until I can generate 500 subscriptions, I can't justify paying anything for marketing. Aweber and Mailchimp are both free for the first 500 emails. It's straightforward to load all your contacts on those platforms. After reaching 500 subscribers, I can sign up for a paid plan. It is still less than Square Marketing.

I also noticed I could not send anything free to entice people to sign up for my email list. It would be great to see a feature automatically sending customers a freebie when they sign up. Example: How to list, a checklist, an ebook or even a welcome package. People aren't going to sign up for some future benefit. They want something now.

It's the same for digital downloads. They don't want to wait for me to send an email with a link to their files. They want the link now.

So I can sell digital products on Square. There are other platforms that do a much better job. (Etsy, Gumroad, Koji, to name a few)
