Send email marketing to customers based on which item they purchased

Hello,

I'm new to the email marketing features and have tried to find a solution to this on my own, but came up empty handed.

When one of our customers rents equipment from us, we would like to offer them a discount on lessons for their return visit. I've played around with the automation tools but haven't been able to figure out how to accomplish this. Any insight out there?
