New to Square. Got the Square Register but was looking for an omni-directional scanner. Handhelds are great, but slows the checkout process due to every barcode must be "straight" when scanned.

I contacted Zebra and informed me that DS9308-SR00004ZZWW should work.

It does. Right out of the box. Pricey but well worth the extra cost.

With this scanner, your barcode can be in any orientation and will scan. UPC & EAN barcodes, ISBN codes and much more.

This post was noticed in the UK forums, but that scanner there isn't available in North America.

I got it at CDW but there are others out there too. Remember that a cable is NOT included and must be purchased as well. I found out the hard way.

I also noticed that it is a proprietary USB cable (RJ-41 to USB A)
