I realized he didn't have any sku's on his products and figured that was the problem. I exported his item list as an Excel file, added sku's to the appropriate items (his business has a bar as well so I didn't add sku's to the food and drinks) and then I imported the Excel file into his Square and it uploaded the sku's perfectly.
