Have featured items as default setting on Shop Now page

Is there a way to change de setting for the Shop Now page. When the page loads, the default setting to show items is by Popularity. I want the default setting to be featured. How do I do that.

I've been having a similar issue, but I actually just figured out an alternate solution here. When in the item list and checking the Arrangement option, "Newest" was selected, but was not applying to the customer view on my site. I solved this by changing the Arrangement to something else, then changing it back to "Newest", and only then did it apply to the page.

Clicking an option from the Arrangement dropdown should automatically sort the view to your selected choice. If it's not updating properly, I've found that it's helpful to re-publish the site, especially after making any type of changes within the editor.
